Inktober Day Ten - Jump

Set so close that a false idle step would seem as if you could merely reach out, and grasp that desired destination.

Hovering just out of your reach even with teeth and talons both beared. The feel of that fresh air, like a cold hiss of the wind's bitter taunt breathing secrets in your ears.

Above that cliff the air is cool up there, the voiceless winds say, the hot red mist dispersed and replaced by a vibrant sky; a vast white and blue meadow for those with great wings.

Yet the spirals raging from that cliff are cruel twisting ledges, only a slight mistake could shred the last remains of that hope of flight. A risk that might be unworthy.

Weigh up those options, and calculate those risks. Is it even possible to make that climb, with shrivelled, shredded wings? Those shadows wait patenitly, with their wriath-like hands posed in a beckoning silence. They wait for an answer to unasked questions. They will still be their if you fail, a promise to drown amongst that Darkness if you fall.

Jump.

It's nothing more than the whisper of the winds.

I think my descriptions get even weirder and sound sillier the more and the later at night I type haha. xD
